Understanding The Education Support Systems In The UK
Many children’s SMA will at some point impact on their ability to access education and mean that they will need additional support. They will be considered to have ‘special educational needs’ (SEN). Depending on the impact of their SMA, some children will already have plans to support them agreed in their pre-school years, for others these needs may emerge later. Children with SMA will also have health needs which will need to be carefully managed.
