This section aims to support you in thinking about what you want to do in the future. It talks about transition (changing or moving from one situation to the next) from when you're age 13. It can take some extra time and planning to make sure that everything's in place and ready for you to move to, so you're likely to need to start thinking about this earlier than your classmates. Annoying though this may be, it can have the advantage that you'll be better organised, make decisions in good time and have more choice as courses and places are less likely to be booked up.
When you reach 16 years, as a ‘young person' you have the right to make your own decisions. This section introduces options for when you're 16 -18 and education options once you're age 18. If you're not keen on more education at 18, you might want to have a look at the Adults section on Work, Volunteering and Further Study.
